Program: None

Issues of Local Interest: 1). Rex Lentner announced his intent to retire after serving 22 years as the Arrowhead Region's rep to the MSFDA following the June 2013 Conference. He intends to stay on as the Secretary of the Arrowhead Regional Fire Fighter's Assn.                     2). MSFCA rep Steve F. discussed the benefits of fire departments using Image Trend to list their resources for mutual aid requests and the importance of having a statewide mutual aid agreement.        3). Greg Taylor - VFBA, pointed out that daily benefits are 107 times the amount they were in 1938 for only 3.5 times the amount of increase in premiums.   4). Lake Superior College and Mesabi Range College listed training opportunities.  5). Bruce Roed discussed the upcoming Nat'l Guard exercise (BIG!) that will take place in 2015 in the Duluth area.  6). President Minter commented on the lack of donations to the FF Memorial by fire departments of the Arrowhead Region. 7). Virginia Fire Chief Dan L'Allier was appointed as the alternate to the MSFCA Director for the Region. 8). Bob Brown was elected to a 2-year term as President of the Arrowhead Regional FF's Assn; Ron Minter was elected to a 2-year term as Vice-President of the Arrowhead Regional FF's Assn.

Issues of State/National Interest: 1). Tim Oland - MN DNR introduced himself and discussed his goals of working with area FD's.  2). State Fire Marshal's Office representatives discussed various issues and projects they are working on.  3). Bruce West - MBFTE, discussed training allocations and future / ongoing statewide training courses.
